Maybe he never aspired to be the great dictator that we in the Northern Hemisphere feared he would be.
Astonishingly, Chavez has accepted the defeat of his Constitutional reforms with a dignity that one cannot imagine our cocksure President would show in the same situation.
A few days ago I feared that a progressive leader I admired was spiraling into despotism, and now his defeat, and his acceptance of the democratic process have me admiring him again.
