Briggs back in the typewriter factory pool

A sub-committee of Middletown's Common Council has recommended that the bid for the former Remington Rand factory once again be awarded to Thomas Briggs, a developer with experience in reviving old industrial buildings.

The purchase will now come up for a full council vote.

Currently the factory is occupied by a hodge-podge of light industrial and non-industrial clients including martial arts, gyms, display services, landscapers, and auto repair services.

Formerly, the building held the Remington Rand Typewriter company which began as the Noisless Typewriter Company.
