Strawberry Park Folk Music and Dance FestivalSeptember 13-16Strawberry Park, Preston CT
This may be pushing the envelope for an outdoor festival in Connecticut, but the lineup is ambitious, and the venue is
conducive to a campfire and a sweater. The weekend is supposed to be sunny and seasonable, and the music will definitely be cool. You'll recognize names like Richie Havens and Jonathan Edwards, but keep your ear peeled for Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem, Richard Shindell, Nerissa and Katryna Nields, David Mallet and Girl Howdy.

At the risk of associating myself in any way with the egregious Rush Limbaugh...
First time commenter here, love your blog.
Just curious, but is Jack Hardy on your radar screen? Hardy and I lived with about 12 other guys on Farmington Avenue back in the 60s. Before UH had dorms on campus. He was the only one with a car, a robin's egg blue VW convertible. He played in a band, but he also played basketball. Four or five of us would pile into his car and off we'd go to the YMCA downtown Hartford. Or the JCC on Bloomfield Ave. His is an interesting story. Someone in the music bidness called him the least known important person in the folk music industry. Or something like that.
Just curious.
