Protecting the brand
This is what Kleenex sued about so many years ago. The right to keep their brand name from becoming a generic description of a product, in the case of Kleenex, a "facial tissue."
In the case of al Qaida,
it's George Bush and John McCain who threaten to lump every middle Eastern terrorist organization under the al Qaida brand.
Shame on them, and I wouldn't be suprised to see Osama bin Laden taking them to court.
