I'm still trying to make sense of Australian politics now that Peter Garrett, former lead singer with Midnight Oil, is a member of parliament, and a member of the cabinet as environmental minister.

First he finds himself criticized by a former Green Party ally.

Then he finds himself sued by Lawyers for Forest who are protesting a pulp mill approved by his predecessor.

And now the Prime Minister is defending Garrett's credibility and usefulness.

Rock and roll had to be easier.
