This is a return-of-the-prodigal son, concert, book release, fundraising, homecoming, at which Bruce Pratt is the center. Pratt, who lives in Bangor, and teaches writing, coaches a number of sports, and plays music only occasionally, was a well-known figure on the local folk scene. He helped found the old Cellar Door Coffeehouse, and founded the Hartland Family Folk Festival. He produced shows at Roaring Brook, helped give birth to the Folk Next Door, and played a bunch of gigs with folks like Ramblin Jack and Greg Brown. He's coming back to Canton as a critically-acclaimed poet and short story author. This event celebrates the release of his book of poems, Boreal, for Antrim House Publishing. Mercik and Alvin Carter Sr. will provide music (Bruce may be cajoled into singing a song or two, and McQuilking and Stanizzi will read their poetry. It all benefits Roaring Brook.
